RAILWAY RECRUITMENT- 2026 1104 Posts

1. Online applications are invited from the candidates fulfilling the prescribed conditions for undergoing Apprenticeship Training under the Apprentices Act, 1961 and Apprenticeship Rules. 1962, in the
following units of North Eastern Railway

Note- There is 4% reservation to Divyang (PwBD) & 3% reservation to the Ex-Servicemen & Wards of Ex-Servicemen & Armed Forces Personnel from their community (UR/SC/ST/OBC) in accordance with the
provisions contained in Railway Board’s Letter No. E(MPP)2003/6/14 dated 09.12.2003 (RBE-213/2003), E(NG)II/2009/RR-1/10 dated 23.07.2015 (RBE-83/2015) & E(NG)II/2017/RC-2/1 Policy
dated 16.02.2018 (RBE-23/2018). In terms of Railway Board’s Letter No. 2019-E(SCT)-1/25/1 dated07.02.2019 (RBE-21/2019), there is 10% reservation to EWS (Economically Weaker Section)
candidates from their community (UR).

3. Age Limit – The candidates must not be less than 15 years of age and not more than 24 years of age ason 16.10.2025. In the case of SC/ST candidates, upper age limit is relaxed by 5 years and in the case of
OBC candidates, the upper age limit is relaxed by 3 years. For Divyang candidates maximum 10 years age relaxation is permitted.

4. Essential Qualifications – The candidate should have already passed the prescribed qualification of High School/10th with minimum 50% marks & ITI in notified trade on the date of issue of notification.
i.e. 16.10.2025

5. Physical Standard – Selected candidates called for document verification will have to submit Medical Certificate in the attached prescribed format issued by authorized Medical Officer. Eligibility of
Divyang for particular trade shall be governed by Railway Boards guidelines.

6. Processing Fee- The candidates will have to pay Rs.100 as processing fee. SC/ST/Divyang (PwBD)/Female candidates are exempted from payment of processing fee.

7. Mode of Application – Candidates are required to submit their applications & processing fee (Rs.100)online through N. E. Railway’s website www.ner.indianrailways.gov.in. Before submitting online
application, the candidate should ensure himself/herself that he/she is eligible under this notification.Server will be opened at 10.00 hrs on 16.10.2025 for online application and will be closed at 17.00 hrs
on 15.11.2025.

8. Mode of Selection: Selection of the eligible candidates for imparting training under the Apprentice Act, 1961 will be based on the merit list which would be prepared taking the average of the percentage of
marks obtained by the candidates in both Matriculation [with minimum 50% (aggregate) marks] and ITI examination giving equal weightage to both. Candidate may opt for more than one unit/place. In case,
his/her merit position does not permit to allot first choice, he/she will be allotted subsequent choice. On the basis of information provided by the Candidates in their application form, candidates provisionally
selected for Document Verification will be called for Document Verification at Gorakhpur and they will have to bring a copy of online application, Medical Certificate in prescribed format, 04 passport sized
photograph, all their original certificates & testimonials for verification purpose. Apprentice training of successful candidates will be started at allotted Division/Unit.

9. Training & Stipend: – The candidates’ training will be arranged according to the standards and syllabus prescribed by the Central Apprenticeship Council subject to registration with RDAT/Kanpur. The
selected candidates will be paid stipend during Apprenticeship at the prescribed rates as per extant rules/Instructions.

10. Disclaimer – Act apprentices imparted training in Railway establishments will have no claim to seek employment on Railways on the basis of such training.

11. Other Conditions-


a. Canvassing in any form would be a disqualification.

b. The candidates who are called for Document Verification are not eligible for any Travelling/ Dearness Allowances, lodging & fooding Expenses.

c. Engineering Graduates and Diploma holders are not eligible to apply for apprenticeship in response to this notification as they are governed by separate scheme of apprenticeship.

d. Apprenticeship of the candidate is subject to their registration with RDAT/Kanpur.

e. The selected candidates shall execute a contract of Apprenticeship under the Apprentices Act, 1961 and if such a candidate is a minor, his parent/Guardian shall execute the prescribed contract. The
Apprentices shall be governed by the provisions of Apprenticeship Rules, 1962 as amended from time to time and such Rules and Regulations applicable to them.

f. In case any applicant discontinues the apprenticeship training and fails to fulfill the obligations as per his contract without valid reasons, he/she will have to refund the stipend paid to him/her, the cost
of training and such other costs that may be determined under the Rules by the Railway Administration.

g. The candidature for training is liable to be canceled at any time if false declaration discovered and candidates are not adhering Rules & Regulations of Railways. The decision of the Railway
Administration in this regard will be final and binding. No further correspondence in this regard would be entertained.
