The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has released an official notification for the recruitment of 6238 Technician posts. Interested and eligible candidates can apply online through the official RRB website. The last date to submit the application form is 28-07-2025.

A total of 6238 Technician Grade 1 and Grade 3 vacancies across 51 categories are expected to be released, based on assessments conducted by all zonal railways. This recruitment drive presents a golden opportunity for candidates, especially those who missed last year’s cycle, as such notifications are not frequently issued by the Indian Railways.

Although the official notification is yet to be published on the RRB website, the indent reply confirms the upcoming vacancies, with South Eastern Railway (SER) having the highest at 1,215 and East Central Railway (ECR) the lowest at 31. Indian Railways, comprising 18 zones and multiple Production Units, has approved these tentative vacancies, and the detailed Centralised Employment Notification (CEN) is expected to be released soon across all regional RRB websites. Candidates are advised to stay updated, as the final vacancy details will be officially confirmed in the upcoming notification.

RRB Recruitment 2025 Age Limit

For Technician Grade 1:

Minimum Age Limit: 18 Years
Maximum Age limit: 33 Years

For Technician Grade 3:

Minimum Age Limit: 18 Years
Maximum Age limit: 30 Years

Qualification

Candidates must already have the Educational/Technical qualifications prescribed in the CEN from a recognized Institute/University as on the last date (i.e., 28.07.2025) for submission of ONLINE application
Diploma /Degree in Engineering will not be accepted instead of a Course Completed Act Apprentices/ITI for the post of Technicians in Pay Level-2, unless otherwise specified. A Graduate Act apprentice will not be accepted instead of the Course Completed Act Apprenticeship (CCAA)

Application Fee

For Candidates belonging to SC / ST / Ex-Serviceman / PWDs / Female / Transgender / Minorities / Economically backward class (This fee of Rs 250/- shall be refunded duly deducting bank charges as applicable, on appearing in CBT..): Rs. 250/-
Other Categories (Out of this fee of Rs 500/-, an amount of Rs 400/- shall be refunded duly deducting bank charges, on appearing in CBT..): Rs. 500/-
